While locked in at home during this pandemic, we were wondering… how are you taking care of you?
Seriously, self-care is as important to your overall well being as washing your hands and wearing a mask in public. But not a lot of people are talking about it.
We thought we’d take a moment to share some ideas for working on your well-being without a drastic change to your daily routine. We’re hoping you like these ideas enough that you continue them beyond the stay-at-home orders.
- Essential Oils Can Invigorate!
Our Invigorate Biotin Shampoo and Conditioner use Rosemary, Mint, and Vanilla for a heavenly-scented, cool, and invigorating spa experience. Some of this delicious scent is from essential oils.Essential oils are compounds extracted from plants, capturing the plant’s scent and flavor, or “essence.” Some essential oils – like mint – can leave your skin with a cool tingling sensation. This is good! It’s stimulating your skin and bringing more blood-flow and healing to the area that’s tingling.
Want to amp-up the self-care power of your next shower? Dim the lights (or use candles), lock your pets and kids out of the room, play some relaxing or energizing music, and spend an extra few minutes massaging your scalp while you shampoo.
Your hair and your body will thank you.
- Deep, Deep Condition for Softer, Shinier Hair.
Our Coconut Oil Deep Conditioning Hair Mask works great in your shower… But did you know that you could leave it on your hair for an hour for a seriously deep conditioning experience? Try it!The certified organic virgin coconut oil and certified organic fair-trade shea butter soak into damaged hair. The longer you leave it on, the more benefit you’ll see.Just shampoo your hair as usual, rinse and apply your LuxeOrganix Deep Conditioner Hair Mask, combing it through your hair with a wide-tooth comb. If your hair is long, pile it up onto the top of your head.
Wrap a towel around your wet hair and go about your business for the next hour.
Do your nails, read, or drink your coffee during this time. When your hour is up, rinse your hair thoroughly with warm water, and dry and style as usual. You’ll notice the difference, and so will everyone else.
- Give Yourself a Facial Massage
How many of us clean our faces in a mad dash to start or end the day, without really thinking about it?Just like a body massage, a facial massage comes with a lot of benefits! It can increase circulation for the face, promoting oxygen and blood flow in your skin. It can also release tension while lifting the skin and making it firmer.
If you’re looking for a natural, healthy, toned, and glowing complexion – slow it down and turn your cleansing routine into a facial massage. For an extra boost, use a silicone scrubber and a detoxifying cleanser like our Remarkably Clean Purifying Facial Cleanser. The scrubber gives you a little massage while the activated charcoal in the cleanser literally pulls dirt and impurities from your skin.
A massage works your facial muscles by releasing tension while lifting the skin and making it firmer. Using the pads of your fingers, massage your chin, jawline and cheeks using upward circular movements. Using your fingertips, smooth your forehead with a firm lifting movement starting at the eyebrows and finishing at the hairline.
Next, using the pads of your fingers, make small circular movements beginning between the eyebrows, finishing at the temples. Finally, use your pinky fingers to alternate tapping the delicate skin underneath your inner eye, working outward toward your temples.
These tips apply to both women AND MEN. Don’t be shy!
We truly hope you find a few minutes to pamper you. And that you enjoy it.
Be well, feel beautiful.
