You list Cetyl & Cetearyl Alcohol in the ingredients – isn’t alcohol drying?
We understand that some ingredient names can be confusing or misleading, but do not worry, Cetyl and Cetearyl Alcohol are not drying to the skin.
Some alcohols are good for the skin, and others, such as Ethel or Denatured Alcohol (which are basically like rubbing alcohol) are very drying to the skin.
Fatty alcohols, such as Cetyl and Cetearyl Alcohol, actually help condition the skin.
A simple way to remember which alcohols are safe and good for your skin (and hair) is that they start with a “C” or an “S.”
